Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; Dan has been living in Colorado since September 2009 and has two kids, Zoe and Grayson. Dan graduated from Whittier College in 2004 with a degree in Kinesiology and Nutrition Science. While attending Whittier, Dan played collegiate lacrosse and helped led his Poets to 3 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the final four in 2003.

In 2004, Dan went onto win a Canadian National Championship with the Peterborough Lakers, before being drafted by the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League 13th overall. Dan was selected to the All-Rookie Team in 2005.

Dan was introduced to CrossFit in the spring of 2008 by a personal training co-worker. After his first CrossFit workout, Dan was sold and began teaching himself everything he could about the CrossFit methodology. When Dan moved to Colorado, he became CrossFit Level 1 Certified and has been coaching, training, and living the CrossFit lifestyle ever since. Dan believes the best thing about the CrossFit Community is its ability to make people’s lives better. “When you start to see changes in your health and fitness, you can’t help but want more. Samantha Call

Owner/Coach

Throughout Sam’s life, she has always prided herself on being active and fit, but CrossFit has brought that to a whole new light.  Growing up, she participated in soccer, track, cross country, and softball while remaining active in the Colorado Outdoors by hiking, skiing, biking, and wakeboarding.  A life full of competing made CrossFit an obvious transition for her, bringing the team mentality together with the motivation and drive to train for something bigger.  CrossFit is not just a workout, but a lifestyle – we are immersed in a community unlike any other and Sam, along with NoCoast CrossFit, is excited to use that vehicle to drive change and lifetime fitness within our community as well.

CoachChristian_edited_edited.jpg

Christian's CrossFit journey began in 2014, a Valentine's Day surprise from his wife Evelyn that reignited his love for fitness.

A Jacksonville, FL native, he participated in high school sports, completed several Olympic-distance triathlons in his 20’s and two marathons in his mid-30s.  In his 40’s, Christian maintained an active lifestyle but fitness had become routine and something he ‘had to do’. Joining the NoCoast community in 2014 made fitness fun again and provided consistent motivation. Christian completed his CrossFit Level 1 in 2015 and though initially having no intentions to coach, he embraced the opportunity when it arose and interactions with athletes is a highlight of his week.

Outside of the gym, Christian assists his wife Evelyn with their business, manages the logistics of raising his two teenage daughters, Elizabeth and Anna, and enjoys enjoys staying active with their dog, Gracie

Maddy Rich

Coach

Maddy started CrossFit merely as a way to get fitter, but fell in love with the variety and challenge of the sport.  To her surprise, she realized that with the support of a community of athletes she could go far beyond what she thought she could do on her own.

Maddy grew up in New York and has spent the past 6 years in Maui, HI working as a SCUBA instructor.  She moved to Colorado in May 2024 to begin a Master's degree in the Geography department at CU Boulder, studying climate and water resources. After trying out a couple of classes at NoCoast, she knew she found a solid spot, and wanted to get more involved. She completed her Level 1 certification soon after, and sees every class as an opportunity to help every athlete in the room leave feeling accomplished.

Outside the box, you'll either find Maddy nose-deep in textbooks or out on the trails with her mountain bike, boyfriend (who just hasn't figured out he likes CrossFit... yet!) and dog.

Matt Anderson

Coach

Matt is a native Coloradan growing up in Eaton, Colorado. Being from a small town, he was
always an active athlete garnering all-state honors in football and baseball. Matt went on to play
Division 1 baseball in Texas helping lead his team to the 2001 NCAA Regional in Houston. After
College, he started a family and let his fitness slip a bit and found a CrossFit gym in 2011 through a friend. It immediately rejuvenated his competitive spirit and he’s been an active member of the
community ever since.

Matt has always been very competitive and over the years has participated in several national and local competitions even taking a few titles along the way. The love for fitness allowed Matt to find an outlet for that good old fashioned competitive drive while creating a larger sense of community and friendship that fuels his outgoing personality. Realizing the impact that the gym had made on his own personal fitness, Matt decided to pursue coaching in 2014 to help others learn and enjoy the passion for living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Matt and his wife Sarah can be found attending classes when he is not coaching and his two kids also frequent the gym in between all their sports activities and school life. Sarah and Matt enjoy supporting them in all their adventures and the gym has become a deep part of their family life that they can enjoy together along with all that Colorado has to offer!

Nicole Wigston

Coach

Nicole moved to Colorado in 2000 after living in several Eastern states. She quickly became addicted to
outdoor sports including whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, and all forms of snow
sliding. After having two kids, she began running and dabbling in sprint distance mountain triathlons in 2013. Nicole had several friends who raved about CrossFit, but she resisted joining (barbells were
intimidating!) until seeing and hearing (often) about her husband Nick’s experience with the NoCoast community. After just one Saturday in 2018, she was hooked!

As an aging athlete, full time corporate warrior, and mom of two teens, Nicole recognizes the importance of nutrition, mobility, recovery, and adapting each workout to her body’s needs. As a coach, Nicole seeks to meet each athlete where they are on that day, striving to make it the best hour of their day!

Chad Long

Coach

Chad found CrossFit in 2015 and has been hooked ever since.  He jumped right in, completing the Level 1 certificate in early 2016 as a way to become a better athlete and apply that knowledge to help others become better versions of themselves.

Outside the box, he spends most days chasing his daughters around between school and sports activities.  With any remaining time, he enjoys using his fitness to take advantage of what Colorado has to offer.  Biking, hiking and snowboarding are just a few of the hobbies that he is also active in.
